Cooper Yerby • Co-Chair

Cooper Yerby is a junior from Utah who is pursuing a condensed progressive B.S./M.S. Degree in Geological Sciences and a minor in Business Finance. He is a captain of the SC Squash team, is a director in Society 53, and is extensively involved in research on and off campus. In the past, Cooper led the design and construction of a museum exhibit pertaining to water sustainability and interned with the Burns & McDonnell engineering firm. He has authored two publications about the causes of chronic gastroenteritis in southern Bangladesh and has published a senior thesis of his astrobiology research in cooperation with Caltech and NASA’s JPL. Cooper enjoys exploring new places, eating spicy foods, spending time outside, and making friends. He looks forward to making everlasting memories and connections with fellow members of TSS and cannot wait to assist scholars in achieving their goals at USC.


Lizzy Patton • Co-Chair

Lizzy Patton is a sophomore Los Angeles native who is pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. Beyond being Co-Chair of Trojan Scholar Society, Lizzy spends her time as an Experiment Manager for Science Outreach, where she volunteers at a local elementary school and coordinates weekly science experiments and lesson plans, Director of Community Building for GlobeMed, a Women in Science and Engineering fellow, and as an RA in McCarthy Honors College. Lizzy is also very passionate about research and works as a molecular genetics research assistant under Dr. Susan Forsburg, where she is working to identify mutant suppressor genes in S. Pombe. Lizzy is an avid fan of traveling, visiting exhibits, going on road trips, and adopting animals. She looks forward to a fun and social year at TSS! 


Sydney Feldman: • Director of Academic & Professional Committee

Sydney is a sophomore double majoring in Physics and Math. She enjoys going to the beach, trying new foods, and stargazing. At USC she is a member of the Society of Physics Students as well as Women in Science and Engineering. She participates in Science Outreach as a Session Leader, teaching science experiments to second and third graders in the surrounding community. Sydney is also involved in undergraduate research at USC; she works in a chemical physics lab under Dr. Hanna Reisler and absolutely loves it! She is extremely passionate about scientific research, and hopes to pursue a career in academia. As the Director of Academic and Professional Development, Sydney hopes to help connect undergraduates to research groups of their interest

Cyrus Khandalavala • Director of Service Committee

Cyrus is a junior double majoring in Comparative Literature and International Relations/Global Economics. His hometown is Omaha, NE. On campus, he is the director of Scholars Leading Scholars, the assistant to the director of the Prison Education Project, a student worker for the Harman Academy of Polymathic Study, and a fellow with the Levan Institute of Ethics and Humanities. Off campus, he listens to way cooler music than you do.


Lauren Walker • Director of Social Committee

Lauren is a sophomore at USC majoring in International Relations/Global Business with a concentration in International Finance and double minoring in Computer Programming and Computer & Digital Forensics. At USC she is involved with the Trojan Scholar Society as the Director of Social Programming and Scholars Leading Scholars as the Director of Communications. She works in USC's Human Resource Department and at Flour Tower's Customer Service Center. Outside of TSS, Lauren loves to travel, enjoys boxing, and likes to explore LA.


Maya Fine • Director of Marketing Committee

Maya is a freshman Business Administration major with a minor in Communication Design. She loves to dance, backpack in the mountains, and play any sport imaginable. At USC, she creates marketing materials, plans events, and is a member of Spark SC: an innovation and entrepreneurship organization whose mission is to inspire a culture of innovation, expose students to their creative potential, and connect makers across diverse communities. As Marketing Director of TSS Maya hopes to reinvigorate the image of the Trojan Scholar Society, and increase awareness of events and initiatives across the scholar community, emphasizing inclusion and a community of engagement.
